Tbh i cant see real honor in this,
2 jerks in group fail to pay then when somone uses a con. set they just turn it up a notch.
you give money back to people that paid and used your own.
I see something nice but really just seems more or less like a typical PuG.
But the whole thing about keeping your word?
Since the whole team didnt keep theres I dont see the point as to why you should yours, yes a few ruined it but there you go, you did gain the benifits of the cons. too
i may be missing somthing, i pressed reply and left it for an hour till i responded, playing games+ other windows open.

I don't really see honor either, but I know what you mean.

It sucks that most people don't have common sense, but whaddaya expect on the internet really (see pic above). Can't do much about it. See pic above.
I've noticed, however, that people rage less over VoIP - it's more direct than chat but still less direct than face-to-face conversations so there are some who will STILL go nuts, but IMO people are less asses over it. In 3 years of PUGging, I've had ONE guy, outta all the people invited over our Vent/TS servers, that raged at my group - was a guildie too, he got kicked out of the guild, but we moved him into another Vent channel and he spent 5 minutes screaming to himself .
I think much less people would rage at others if they were in the same room, house, even neighborhood... so I laugh at people who try to insult me. Or if I'm bored, I fight back for the lulz.

Those whom would invoke the law against their fellow man is a fool or a coward. Anyone who would hide behind law is both. A man will say to his assailant,"If you wound me, I shall kill you. If you kill me, all is forgivin". Such is the way of honor.

I agree, I do not see how this has anything to do with honor.
There are good players, few in number, that are not potty mouthed, spoiled brats and then there is the latter. I have turned my local chat off long ago. I do not PUG anymore. I am much happier for it.

I am a firm believer in the "Eye for an eye" approach. I save what honor I have for real life, thanks very much. Its an extremely cynical, unforgiving and at times completely irrational gaming atmosphere in GW and I really dont like to waste my time on insecure 12 year olds who feel more important by ripping on other people for the most trivial reasons.
Having said that, when I DO come across nice people in game, I make sure to add them to friends lists, keep in touch with them, and on occasion if they ask for help and I'm free, help out. But no.."honour" in Guild Wars is a bit of an outmoded concept at this point, I think.

So the mafia created Guild Wars? That explains so much.

Consumable Sets are always a group breaker. Thats why Guild groups are so much preferrable to me, anyway. Not that I do elite areas anyway.

Ok, I want to make clear again that my OP was not meant to be about me and my so called nice deed. It would have been wiser to use 'a friend of mine' instead of 'I' in my OP, but lying is not an honourable thing to do, is it?
I'm not Mr. nice guy, I couldn't stand those two who I see as dishonorable and I sure wouldn't wanted to be nice to them. I wanted to get the hell outta there. By calling me a scammer they touched my honour. My pride prevented the two fair players (who paid and wanted to pay again after) to have their honour (the dignity and fairness that they wanted to pay).
The thread title is directed at you, it's not about me. Are you like those two that called me a scammer or are you like the two fair players? (retorical question) I despise you if you're one of the first group. If you are one of the latter, I salute you, because you are a man of your word just like I am. It goes beyond money and con sets.
After spending several ours reading dictionaries etc., honour seems to have plenty of meanings and can be relative depending on culture etc.
A few quotes caught my attention though:
"We laugh at honour and are shocked to find traitors in our midst." — C. S. Lewis, The Abolition of Man
"Mine honour is my life, both grow in one. Take honour from me, and my life is done." — William Shakespeare, Richard II
"Rather fail with honour than succeed by fraud" — Sophocles
Anyway, peace out and hf.

Why does EVERYONE and their mother have to use consumables nowadays?
Is it not simply easier (if all they seem to do is cause conflicts) to..not bother with them?
It's not like they're a GW staple, after all: last I checked we'd been happily plodding along for a couple of years+ without them.
